GPSD Employee Leave of Absence Notification Process

Employees are to provide Human Resources with a thirty (30) day notification prior to the commencement of the leave. Employee must have required FMLA paperwork filled out prior to their leave. The 30-day notification will be waived in the event of an emergency. In an emergency, the employee must provide proper documentation as soon as feasibly possible. The steps below will guide you through your leave:

Step 1

BEFORE contacting HR, review your options because an educated employee is the best employee! What type of leave will you be taking? What type of leave are you eligible for?

Step 2

Do you want to be paid? Do you have to be paid? Are there other options for pay? Do you have a long or short-term disability plan? You need to read this!

Step 3

Do you subscribe to GPSD health insurance? Learn what your options and responsibilities are while out on leave.
