Good afternoon Bullock School Families. We are excited to welcome our students back to school on Tuesday, September 8th. We will have a full day of school, with our doors opening at 8:45 AM and dismissal beginning at 3:15 PM. Below you will find information regarding arrival and dismissal procedures.
Transportation Information
We ask that all Bullock Families complete the attached Google Form to share transportation information with our school. This will ensure that all our students arrive home safely. Transportation Google Form . Please note, that as you answer questions, additional options will populate to gather the correct information. For students’ safety and dismissal procedures, each student must have one designated dismissal option. Multiple or conflicting dismissal arrangements cannot be accommodated.
Student Drop-off and Pick-up:
Students who are being transported to school by car should be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building. All vehicles should follow the designated lane and directional arrows to the drop-off/ pick-up location. Staff will be outside to greet students and direct them when to leave their vehicle. We ask that parents remain in their vehicle to help with the flow of traffic. Students should always exit and enter vehicles on the passenger side to ensure they are not entering traffic lanes. We ask that you do not park in the bus drop-off area or in the parking spaces to drop off students.
Our morning drop-off door will open at 8:15 AM to help with the flow of traffic. Doors will close at 9 AM. After 9 AM students are considered late, and parents will be directed to bring their student to main office to sign them in. Parents must accompany their student into the building when they are late.
During pick-up we ask that you follow the same procedures as a drop-off, however, you will remain in your vehicle until a staff member can come to check your ID, verifying the identity of the individual who is picking up your student. We will walk the student out to your car. You will then proceed to the exit. This exit will be in the same location where you entered the parking lot. We ask that you do not turn into the bus drop-off lane as we are working to decrease traffic in that area. Please be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher, the name of the individual who will be picking your child up, if it is different than the emergency contacts in Power School.
We do ask and thank you for your patience as it is important to ensure the safety of all our students. As we begin to familiarize ourselves with our families, the lines will move quicker. We do ask that you do not arrive prior to 3:00 to get into the pick-up line as we will have cones blocking this area for student safety.
Walkers:
Students should not arrive on campus before 8:45 A.M. They will not be permitted to enter the building until 8:45 A.M. They should use caution and cross streets only where crossing guards are on duty. Those students riding bikes to school must wear safety helmets. When riding on school property, refrain from entering parking lots or bus areas. There is a bike rack located at the far end of the school, by the gymnasium entrance.
Additional Information:
Students in first and second grade must have a parent or guardian present to walk them home from school or meet them at the bus stop. The students will come back to school if a parent or guardian is not present.
If a change to a student’s transportation needs to be made, you must contact your child’s teacher or the office by 1 PM.
All Bullock School Playgrounds are closed during arrival and dismissal. Students should not be on the playground prior to the start of a school day.
Back to School night at Bullock School will be September 16th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. More information will be sent home soon.
We ask that you take time to review our parent handbook and our codes of conduct that are on our school website. A copy of the school calendar will be sent home with students on the first day. Please review the calendar to note important information such as early dismissal days, District planned 2 hour delays, District closures and Parent Conference information.
We hope you have a great afternoon.
Thank you,
Kelly Marchese, DLB Principal
