Glassboro High School Celebrated Homecoming on October 21

Glassboro High School celebrated Homecoming in a big way this year!

The Bulldogs beat the opposing football team, Buena Regional, with a score of 28-0.

The Homecoming Court took the field at halftime, followed by the talented GHS Marching Unit. This year, 10 boys and 10 girls competed for the titles of Homecoming King and Homecoming Queen: Dwayne Adkins, Symir Brickle, Zaivon Burt Graves, Evan Fithian, Jevon Gallon, Michael Graves, Jhaisir Harden, Carter Kensil, Palo Re, Kai Salugao, Enica Allen, Jaina Baptiste, Mariyia DiBenedetto, Yarimar Hernandez, Violet Lopes, Ciane Lopez, Francesca Maccarone, Madison Putney, Daphne Rauda, and Schalen Taylor.

.

Paolo Re, a GHS foreign exchange student from Italy, was named Homecoming King. He was escorted on the field by his host mother, Annamarie Mason, and local program coordinator Joe Cotoneo. Daphne Rauda was chosen as the Homecoming Queen. She was escorted by her father, Ivan Facio.

GHS students engaged in several activities throughout Spirit Week, the week leading up to Homecoming. Activities included Powder Puff Football, Penny Wars, dance and cheer competitions, recorded skits, a pep rally, and more. Sixth through eighth graders are now educated at the newly reconfigured Thomas E. Bowe Middle School this year, just across campus from GHS. The entire Thomas E. Bowe School student body united with GHS students to attend the Pep Rally during the school day on October 21. Cheers could be heard from far away!

The GHS Interact Club sponsored an activity called Penny Wars, which raised $1100 for Disaster Relief, an organization that has provided much needed relief to people in Florida and Puerto Rico, when hurricanes struck those regions. GHS also raised money at the October 21 Homecoming Football Game to support the local food bank.

A Homecoming Dance on October 22 topped off the festivities!
