Three Glassboro Students Selected for Prestigious Chorus

The South Jersey Choral Directors Association recently selected three Glassboro students for All South Jersey Chorus. Glassboro School District senior Bethel Bichay, sophomore Abby Crispin, and seventh-grader Karli Pritchett competed alongside approximately 400 other students and were selected for Soprano 1 parts. They will perform in the 62nd Annual South Jersey High School Choral Festival featuring the 58th Junior High Chorus and the 62nd Senior High Chorus in January. The festival will take place at the Washington Township High School Performing Arts Center in Sewell on Saturday, January 25 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 26 at 4 p.m.

Bichay and Crispin were two of only 23 students who were selected for Soprano 1 parts for the festival’s Senior High Chorus. Pritchett was one of only 30 students selected for a Soprano 1 part in the festival’s Junior High Chorus. At school, Bichay and Crispin study voice under the direction of Glassboro High School choir director Elisa Contrevo, while Pritchett studies under the direction of Glassboro Intermediate School choir director Katharine Baer. All three students are Principal’s List students. Crispin is in the Glassboro School District Performing Arts Academy and recently won the high school’s Glassboro Idol Competition. Bichay was the second runner-up in that competition.

GHS students Abigail Crispin and Bethel Bichay were selected for All SJ Chorus.
