Glassboro High School Marching Band Captures Acclaim and Awards in New Jersey Competitions

The Glassboro High School Marching Band placed third in the NJ Regional Cavalcade of Bands Championships at Gittone Stadium in Vineland on November 2. The band earned its highest overall score this season as it competed against 10 other Independence Division bands from South Jersey.

Throughout the fall season, the GHS band has captured acclaim and awards for its competition performances. The band took first place for its division in both the October 19 Cavalcade of Bands Show in Unionville and the October 5 Cavalcade of Bands Festival at Millville High School. For the Unionville show, there was separate judging for color guard sections, and the GHS Color Guard took first place for its division as well. The GHS Marching Band placed second for its division at Clayton High School’s Band Festival on October 12.

This year, the school’s performances feature flamenco music composed by GHS Band Director Art Myers. Drum majors include students Julianna Menna, Alicia Petrany, and Carter Profico.  Teacher Angelina Coppola leads the color guard, and Douglas Tranz serves as assistant band director. Instrumental soloists include Anna Holland (alto saxophone), Menna (trumpet), Petrany (clarinet), Profico (xylophone), Andrew Ritter (mellophone), Kai Salugao (trumpet), Logan Stockl (euphonium), and Douglas Tranz (trumpet). Color guard soloists are Sara Carins and Antonino Ramirez.

Congratulations to all involved!
