Glassboro High School recently inducted nine students into the Tri-M Music Society. Inductees included: Anna Holland, Alicia Petrany, Kali Pierson, Carter Profico, Brenna Somdahl-Sands, Logan Stockl, Emilee Townsley, Douglas Tranz Jr., and Jillian Smith. Tri-M recognizes students for their leadership, service, and ability/scholarship in music and academic subjects.
Tri-M Music Society is an international organization. It originated in 1952. Adviser Art Myers established the GHS chapter (#3004) in 1998. Myers also coordinates the school district’s Fine & Performing Arts Academy and directs the GHS and Glassboro Intermediate School Bands.
The “Tri” in Tri-M stands for Modern Music Masters. Club officers spoke about the meaning of Tri-M at the ceremony. The event also featured instrumental and vocal performances by students and staff. Tri-M candidates must fulfill a performance or report requirement as part of the induction process.
