The lessons below are identified for grades first, second and third.
Welcome to another week of distance learning! This week we continue working on math, literacy and writing. Students will continue to log-in daily in
Zearn and Raz-Kids, and are to continue with these two, as well as a daily lesson for FUNdations assigned by grade level.
Online Learning Information
Students will be assigned a lesson a day to do in Raz-kids, Zearn , writing and FUNdations. Please remember to complete attendance
for your child when you login the first time each day in addition to the assignments.

I will continue contacting you via Webex or phone conference to check in on the students and their progress, as well as answering
any questions you may have.

Grade 1:
Math: Building numbers to 10 using beans, pennies or counters of your choice.
- Write a math problem (3+2= ?) followed by a drawing to match. THe students have been working on adding to 5, though you may go higher if they can build the model, draw the model and write the model).
- Practice subtraction facts to 5 and write the math problem (5-3=2) through you may go higher here as well.
- Write numbers 0 to 10 clearly and in order three times each (watch for reversed numbers)
- Practice counting by ones to 20 or higher
Reading:
- Read daily to your child and practcie letter/soind recognition. Use the story to go on a word hunt (how any times is the word the, is, it, and, etc. within the story).
- Practice the following pattern words: an, at, am (man, can, fan....cat, hat, mat.....am, ham) :
Grade 1-3 Writing:
- Practice writing the lower case and upper case alphabet. (grade 1)
- Write a story about your favorite thing you are doing at home. Write your opinion about your favorite food,toy, or topic of your choice(grade 2/3)
- Written response to the literature piece is important as it leans to comprehension, recall story details, and questions.
Grade 2/3:
Math: daily one lesson
- Building numbers to 100 usiing pennies, beans, or counters of your choice , counting to 100, counting by 2 as high as they can go (goal to 100), addition of double digit numbers
- Time your fact fluency (how many can you write/do in five minutes)
- Grade 3: practice multiplication/division facts : 0,1,2,3,5,9,10 then add 4,7,8 if you master the others and build arrays
- Using a ruler, tape measure, or yard stick measure 15 items in your house and write what you measured and it's length
examples: book was 7 inches long, sneaker was ? inches long, table was ? inches long
*** continue to practice math facts to maintain fluency
Writing:
- Write a story about your favorite thing you are doing at home. Write your opinion about your favorite food,toy, or topic of your choice(grade 2/3)
