My name is Amanda Brice and I am the School Counselor at the J. Harvey Rodgers School.  I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University in Camden and a Master of Education in School Counseling from Wilmington University in Delaware.  This is my second year working at the Rodgers School!  If you have older children, you may recognize me from the Bullock School where I was the counselor for 11 years!  I am looking forward to working with our Pre-K and Kindergarten students and I cannot wait to see what this new school year will bring!

As a School Counselor, my ultimate goal is to provide students with the tools they can use to meet their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.  It is my belief that all students have what it takes to be successful.  When working with students, I prefer to take an eclectic approach, adapting several counseling theories to my work.  Students and counselors come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences and all have unique personalities. Therefore, counseling approaches should be in sync with the individual needs of each student.  I emphasize a calm, patient, understanding approach when working through any situation.  I also place great importance on building a genuine, trusting relationship with my students.  Each year, I look forward to working collaboratively with my colleagues, students and their families!

When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Phil and our two energetic little boys, Landon (8) and Cameron (5).  We live in Gibbstown and enjoy spending as much time as possible outside!
