Ms. Kelsey Brown is a graduate of Rutgers University-Camden, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and Theatre, as well as her NJ Teaching Certifications (CEAS, K-12) in both fields. She is the new Drama teacher here at Glassboro High, but is no stranger to the stage. Ms. Brown has been working in multiple production roles in theatre, from being an actor to directing her own original play in the New Jersey Fringe Festival. She has worked with several theatrical companies in the tri-state area such as The Grand Theatre (Williamstown, NJ), Haddonfield Plays and Players (Haddonfield, NJ), Circle Performing Arts Alliance (Philadelphia, PA), Bootless Stageworks (Wilmington, DE), and many more. Her recent performance accolades include a showcase in Season 8 of Larry McKenna's New Voices Cabaret (Wayne, PA, March 2019), Susan Blackwell in the musical [title of show] (Bootless Stageworks, October 2018), and Malvolio in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night (Ignoble Shakespeare Company, July 2018). She has also directed several plays and musicals, most recently directing and choreographing Woodland Country Day School's production of the musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. Ms. Brown is also an active musical performer and teacher, training vocalists and pianists at Old Towne Music and performing in several cabarets in the tri-state area as a vocalist, and she will be starting her Master's program in Theatre Arts Administration at Rowan University this fall.
As far as her personal life, Ms. Brown has been living in Williamstown, NJ for her entire life and is a proud graduate of the class of 2014 at Williamstown High School (GO BRAVES!). She happily spends her weekends with her boyfriend Michael and their "son," a Russian Blue kitten named Basil. In her free time, Ms. Brown enjoys writing plays and musicals, reading, and beating her friends at video games such as Mario Kart and Ultimate Smash Brothers.
