Hester S. Hasheian
Ms. Hester S. Hasheian is a native of New Jersey, having attended college across the street at Glassboro State College (Rowan University) before traveling off to the Mid-West to complete her graduate work at Indiana Univeristy, Bloomington, IN.
Ms. Hasheian has taught extensively throughout New Jersey and Michigan, and briefly taught in Pennsylvania. She is always amazed at the new things she learns from the many talented colleagues she has collaborated with throughout her teaching journey.
In addition to teaching strings and orchestra at the elementary and secondary levels, Ms. Hasheian is an avid performer. While doing her student teaching, her mentor was and is an avid performer who emphasized how important it was for students to see and hear their teacher actively play and do the very things she expects of her students daily.
Ms. Hasheian's performance outlets include a variety of area symphony work (Reading Symphony, Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey, Pottstown Symphony, Saginaw Symphony, Warren/Motor City Symphony, and Midland Symphony Orchestras), backing orchestras at the Detroit Fox Theatre for artists such as: Aretha Franklin, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, and at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City: Michael Bolton. She also performs chamber music, solo violin and viola performances, and fiddling in several Americana/Bluegrass and Rock bands (Bill Bynum & Company, The Joey Vee Band, Redhill, Diesel County and Steeltraxx), adding her vocal and string recordings on area musicians' CD/MP3 original releases.
It is her hope to instill the love of music into any class she teaches by using her vast experiences in music making as a means of connection with any and all of her students here at Glassboro.
