• In order to provide the most effective educational program, many factors are considered as we develop class lists.  As always, our goal is to create classes that are well balanced, providing the optimal learning environment for every student.  Some of the factors that are considered each year include academic achievement (including, but not limited to, Fountas & Pinnell reading levels & DIBELS scores), social development, and student/teacher personalities. 

    This is a complex task that requires collaboration amongst administration, classroom teachers, specialists, and our nurse & counselor.  Finalization of this process takes place throughout the summer, with placement letters being finalized at the end of August each year.

    Parents also play a valuable role as a resource throughout this process.  Although we cannot honor requests for specific teachers, if you feel that your child would benefit from a specific program and/or learning environment, we ask that you state those educational needs in writing.  At the Bullock School, we believe that parents are the first teachers and will give your insights consideration when making our decision.
