    Welcome to Dorothy L. Bullock Physical Education!

    l focus on a variety of activities with the purpose of helping students acquire skills. These skills will give them a foundation to build on as they grow and develop interests in various physical activities on a recreational and school level. My hope is for all of my students to find activities which they enjoy to live healthy, active lives. The main themes for the year include:

    • Fitness and nutrition
    • Cooperation – learning to work in pairs and in groups
    • Movement education – locomotor and non-locomotor, chasing and fleeing, scooters, and more
    • Hand/Eye coordination – throwing and catching, juggling, and more
    • Various sports with an emphasis on skill acquisition and teamwork

    In order for students to get the most from my classes they need to come to school dressed appropriately for P.E. I have sent home a reference card for each student to help remind them of the day they have P.E. and what things they should and should not wear. It is important that students are wearing sneakers and comfortable clothing that fit well for a variety of exercises.  If students are not dressed properly they may be given an alternate activity such as walking laps during class.  This is not meant as punishment but rather as a way to provide some level of exercise that is appropriate for their attire.  This information is also located on my website which can be accessed through Glassboro’s School District site.

    At the end of each class, I will be awarding two “Most Valuable Players” (MVPs). I am looking for students who are prepared, have great attitudes, and are willing to help others. From these students I will be selecting an “Athlete of the Month” for each grade. Those students will be recognized by the principal each month.
