Dear J. Harvey Rodgers School Families,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Acting Principal of J. Harvey Rodgers School. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of quality education and service to others. The teachers and support staff are truly an inspiration to me and it is a privilege to work alongside of them. I am looking forward to a collaborative partnership with you to ensure your children can achieve their highest potential. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. I thank you for your support and look forward to meeting with your children.
I am a proud graduate of Rutgers University, NJ. I obtained a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Rider University and completed my administrative course work at Rider University. For the past 18 years, I have dedicated my career in education to inspiring and motivating students, supporting and encouraging teachers, and communicating openly with parents.
I am excited to bring my skills as an instructional leader to J. Harvey Rodgers School and am committed to ensuring our students receive a high-quality education balanced with purposeful play opportunities with intentional teaching and a continued focus on giving back. It is important to me that each child experiences success while at school. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes and encourage them every day. They will know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.
As the parent of a six-year-old who just completed her first year in Kindergarten and twin boys who are nine-years old, I truly recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met. I would love to get to know the people who guide, encourage, and advocate for our students outside of the school building.
To our students, I cannot wait to meet you and read to you! I hope that you enjoyed your summer and had plenty of opportunities to play outside and read your favorite books.
As Principal, my door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to make an appointment to discuss your concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this year the best it can be! I also encourage you to get involved with the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) as it is such an important partner in supporting our school. I hope to see you at Back-to-School Night.
