As part of the ongoing efforts to reduce transportation costs and to maximize bus capacity and transporting time constraints, the Board of Education has approved the merging of bus routes for certain schools. Effective for the 2015-2016 school year, some of the bus routes will transport students attending Glassboro High School and Glassboro Intermediate School. In addition, some of the bus routes will transport students attending both Bullock School and J. Harvey Rodgers School. Thomas E. Bowe School student transportation will not be affected at this time.
As a result of this merge, the District will be able to reduce the school bus fleet by two (2) 54 passenger buses and continue to offer courtesy bussing to as many students as possible. Therefore, the savings can be passed on to fund school programs to further educate our students.
Additionally, the district has equipped the school buses with video/audio surveillance cameras to monitor student behavior while riding the bus. The cameras were installed to further the safe travel of students by monitoring and identifying any inappropriate behavior so that the proper disciplinary actions may be taken.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
