BERNARD BUNN – Class of ‘54

Bernard was an outstanding three sport performer for Glassboro High School, competing in football, wrestling and baseball.

He was one of the key members in two championship teams, Group II Football Champions as a fine lineman, and Group II Baseball Champions as a starting pitcher.  But it was in wrestling that Bernard made his real mark as he finished third in the State Tournament after being successful as the South Jersey Champion at 168 lbs.  Bernard joins other inductees from the Class of 1954, Louise Boyd, Lorraine Boyd and John Aveni.

BILL DATZ – Class of ‘49

Bill concentrated his athletic efforts in football and baseball.  Bill was the left tackle on the team while Joe Stetson was the right tackle.  He was described by Coach Smerin as “pound for pound one of the toughest lineman he had”.

But, it was in baseball that Bill Datz made his mark.  He was recognized as one of the premiere catchers in the area and a fine hitter.  Bill continued his baseball efforts, catching for Glassboro State College for four years.

JOE STETSON – Class of ‘49

Joe was a three sport performer at Glassboro High School competing in football, basketball and baseball.

In football he earned All Group II honors as a lineman as selected by the Courier Post.  Glassboro finished the season that year, under first year Coach Charles Smerin.

During the winter, Joe turned to basketball where he was the team’s leading rebounder and Co-captain.

In baseball Joe was a fine hitting first baseman.
