Dental Insurance

The Glassboro Board of Education offers dental insurance through Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.  Please visit our Dental Coverage page for more information.

Open enrollment is offered once a year for those employees who wish to make changes to their health insurance.  Options during open enrollment consist of the following;

• Enrollment/Termination of a plan
• Addition or removal of a spouse or dependent
• Changing plans
• Joining the Waiver Incentive Benefits Plan 

Open enrollment is held during the month of May and becomes effective July 1^st. 

Note:  Employees who have a qualifying life event can add or remove a dependent at any time during the year if they provide proof within 31 days of the event.  A qualifying life event would be defined as one of the following:

• Marriage or divorce
• Birth or adoption of a child
• Death of a spouse, civil union/domestic partner, or child
• Change in residence or work location that affects benefits eligibility for you or your covered dependent(s)
• Your child(ren) meets (or fails to meet) the plan’s eligibility rules 
• You or one of your covered dependents gain or lose other benefits coverage due to a change in employment status (for example, beginning or ending a job)

Please note: Switching medical or dental plans is not a qualifying event.  The above events only apply to adding or dropping outside of Open Enrollment.
