Physical Education Grading Policy
All students will receive a score from 0-30 Points each week. A description of the requirements for each category is listed below.
- Preparation – This includes not wearing jewelry while participating in class, not chewing gum in class, having sneakers on and tied to start class, bringing a note to class (if needed to be excused from participating or from taking earrings out).
- Participation/Class Conduct – Participation: This includes a student giving their best effort and attempting all exercises, skills, activities, and games in class. Class Conduct: This includes listening and following all directions in class, following class rules and procedures, and working well with peers.
- Skills/Sportsmanship – Skills: This includes a student using correct form/technique while performing skills and participating in games, and executing those skills with success. Sportsmanship: This includes showing respect to the teacher and peers during all activities and games. Please check the Sportsmanship section of my website for my expectations of sportsmanship.
- Extra Credit – This will include any assignments not normally given to the class
If a student does not have sneakers then he/she will be excused on the 1st occasion. On the 2nd occasion, he/she will receive 0 points towards his/her daily grade and receive a phone call home.
