Dr. Robert Preston
Dr. Preston, a Pennsylvania native, began his tenure at Glassboro Public Schools in September of 2007. His first position was as a 9th grade teacher of Language Arts. After teaching the full gamut of classes to freshmen, Dr. Preston began teaching seniors in September of 2012, where he taught AP Composition, AP Literature, and advised the National Honor Society, among other extracurriculars. In 2012, Dr. Preston was awarded the Teacher of the Year award and represented Glassboro in the county-wide TOY competition. He received his Master's Degree in School Leadership, and in August of 2018 received his doctorate at the University of Delaware with a specialization in administrative policy. In 2016, Dr. Preston was appointed Supervisor of English Language Arts and Social Studies, where he collaborated on new curriculum and various other projects throughout the district. He was appointed Interim Chief Academic Officer in spring of 2020, and was promoted to Chief Academic Officer in September 2020. Dr. Preston continues to collaborate with the NJDOE Office of Assessments and he also teaches adjunct Education and English classes at the university level. Dr. Preston credits his success to those people he's worked with, taught, and supervised.
He is married to his high school sweetheart and together they have two children, Kaitlin and Jack. When he's not working he enjoys playing golf, hiking with his family, and adding to his library as many pieces from the literary canon he can.
