• Classroom Guidance Lessons

Classroom Guidance Lessons take place once a month.  We visit each classroom and present a variety of character building lessons.  Each month features a different lesson.  Guidance lessons are presented to all students in both regular and special education.  Each lesson lasts approximately 30 minutes and includes a presentation and discussion of a topic followed by a game or activity to review the message of the lesson.  Our lesson discussions are based around our character word for each month. Please see monthly guidance lesson tap on our webpage for more information.

    Group Counseling

Group Counseling is available for any student who may need extra assistance in the areas of behavior, managing anger or other feelings, managing anxiety, social skills, self esteem, making or keeping friends, organizational skills, divorce or changing families, death or illness.  The availability and type of groups offered may change depending on student needs.  Groups consist of 3-6 children and meet weekly for 30 minutes each session.  Group counseling sessions consist of discussions and activities designed to address the participants' needs and encourage positive outcomes.  Students may be referred to group counseling by him/herself, teachers, parents, administrators, or myself.  Students will receive permission slips that must be returned in order to participate.

    Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling is very similar to group counseling with the main difference being that students would meet with a counselor one on one rather than in a group setting.  Individual Counseling, like group counseling is available to any student who may be having difficulty in the following areas:  behavior, managing anger or other feelings, managing anxiety, social skills, self esteem, making or keeping friends, organizational skills, divorce or changing families, death or illness.  Individual counseling sessions take place once or twice a month for 30 minutes or on an as-needed basis.  Counseling continues as long as it is necessary.  Sessions consist of discussions and activities designed to promote positive outcomes and address student needs.  Students may be referred to individual counseling by him/herself, teachers, parents, administrators, or myself.  Students will receive permission slips that must be returned in order for students to participate.
